We have moved to a new website!
Project Onomatopee has been growing! We are very happy more people are participating
and we felt it was time to change to a new, better website. So after a few
months of silence the new website is done and project Onomatopee is ready to
start its new life!
The site has changed its language to English. All the submissions appear
in a beautiful gallery and there’s an archive of the past topics. Go check it
out and let this month’s topic inspire you!

Welkom bij het project ‘Onomatopee’ waarbij kunstenaars individueel iedere maand een strip of illustratie maken.
Iedere maand wordt er een onderwerp bekend gemaakt. Onderwerpen kunnen bijvoorbeeld zijn; monsters, soep, hollywood, paars, de dood, jaloezie, nagels, noem het maar op. Vervolgens heb je een maand de tijd om over dat onderwerp een A4’tje te vullen. Vervolgens stuur je jouw werk naar dit email adres: project.onomatopee@gmail.com waar vervolgens alle werken bij elkaar worden gezet op dit blog.
Het leuke hiervan is dat er totaal verschillende werken bij elkaar komen die dan wel overeenkomen qua onderwerp, maar ontzettend zullen variëren in stijl, visie en verhaal. Het doel van dit project is dat het als oefening, ter ontspanning, nieuwe hobby, of uitbreiding van je portfolio dient. Mocht het na een tijd heel erg leuk en populair blijken te zijn, dan is er de ambitie om er een mooie website voor te maken en misschien zelfs het uitgeven van een boek of strip voor in de winkel.
De richtlijnen;
1) Size: 1 A4-tje, 300 dpi, portrait.
2) Format: jpeg, png.
3) Naamgeving: [onderwerp vd maand]_[jouw naam].jpeg/png. (bijv: honing_annemariekoekoek.jpeg)
4) De illustratie of strip moet verband hebben met het onderwerp. Dat kan zijn met het maken van een strip, illustratie, info-graphic, het maakt niet uit als het maar beeldend interessant is.
Vervolgens stuur je jouw werk naar dit email adres: project.onomatopee@gmail.com
Natuurlijk kan je mailen als je; suggesties hebt voor mogelijke onderwerpen, het ergens niet mee eens bent, vragen hebt, op de mailinglijst wilt voor de volgende maand. Je wordt niet plat gespamed als je op de mailinglijst zit, je krijgt maar 2 mailtjes in de maand.

This is an invite to be a part of a project called ‘Onomatopee’ where artists illustrate a subject every month.
Every month a new subject is announced. Subjects vary from monsters, soup, Hollywood, purple, death, jealousy, nails, anything you can imagine. When the subject is announced everyone has one month to fill an A4 sized image. That could be by making a comic, illustration, info-graphic, it doesn’t matter as long it is visual interesting. Next you send your work to this address: project.onomatopee@gmail.com and you can find your work amongst others on the blog: http://project-onomatopee.
The fun part is that you’ll see totally different approaches on the subject. The goal of this project is to keep drawing, have a new hobby, to exercise and try out new techniques / styles, or create a bigger portfolio. You’re not forced to be a part of it every month, only when you feel like drawing. See it as a playground. Who knows after a while things are getting bigger and perhaps a proper website or a magazine will follow? Your opinion matters so don’t hesitate to contact me.
There are some rules:

4) The drawing has to have a connection with the subject.
Of course you can contact me about suggestions, ideas for subjects, don’t agree with something, have questions, or want to be added or removed from the mailing list. You only get 2 emails a month; one with the subject and one reminder a week before the deadline. Project Onomatopee is open for everyone so if you know someone who would like to be a part of it it’s ok to forward this mail.
